Essential oils, the concentrated volatile natural chemicals of plants, have a long and rich history in plant medicine. Studies around the world support their use in the prevention and treatment of many conditions. Because of their potency, these precious substances can be most safely, effectively, and economically utilized through proper diffusion into the air in your environment. This presentation, by one of the world's top authorities on the production, chemistry and use of essential oils, will address the art and science of diffusion.
In particular, native Australian plant essential oils have long been known and prized for their highly therapeutic properties. Learn about these properties and the uses of specific Australian essential oils from this expert, who has been deeply involved for over 25 years in all facets of the Australian essential oil industry - plantation development and management, distillation, and marketing to more than 20 countries throughout the world. Under Bill's direction, the Australian Essential Oil Company's ongoing research and development have introduced to the world essential oils such as Australian Blue Cypress, Rosalina and Nerolina.
Bill McGilvray is the founder and owner of the Australian Essential Oil Company in New South Wales, Australia and Co-Director of Plant Extracts International in Hopkins, Minnesota. Bill McGilvray's initial business involvement with essential oils and plant extracts was in the Tea Tree oil industry in 1986, as a consultant in production and distillation. Soon after, as a member of a family partnership, he purchased several properties in the Northern New South Wales area and began to develop a substantial Tea Tree oil business. He designed, constructed, and commissioned one of those properties as a Certified Organic Tea Tree plantation. Since then he has been deeply involved in all facets of the industry, from distillation to plantation development and management (both conventional and organic), through to research, sales, and marketing. He has developed a network of buyers and agents in over twenty countries around the world.
